The same year Dyda won 9th place with his U20 team at Veenendaal in the Netherlands. Currently, the only one left from those teams is Adam Maciejewski. Michał Badura and Wojciech Pająk played on the team until WJUC 2016. The rest of the players has passed the age qualifying them to play the junior tournaments. During the opening game, Poland will face very well known Czech representatives as their first rivals. This small, but fearless nations proved that its level of Ultimate is very high and keeps growing. They’re not afraid to compete with other European nations. We’ve asked Matěj Štětka, the trainer of the Czech team, for a statement:

Are we looking forward to the championships? That’s rather obvious. Last year the World Championships took place in Canada, and we didn’t go, that’s why we’ve basically dedicated 2 years of preparation for EYUC 2019. During that time, we’ve trained a lot with players from ‘00 and younger age groups. Personally, this tournament is the culmination of work done with U17 Representatives, which I’ve led in Belgian Ghent.
The current roster is mostly based on the players from that team. Last week we found out that we’re going to take part in the opening game. The nomination really surprised us, because such luck doesn’t happen often. We’re a little bit nervous because the game in front of such an audience increases the pressure and we’re playing against a similar rival. The stakes are high. Ambitions? We’ve committed a lot of time for these years preparations, and the Czech teams didn’t make it through the quarterfinal since 2011. So our goal is the medal!
